Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 9 September 2026 · Last Updated: 9 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information AssignmentGPT collects, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (where you provide it)
  • Account information such as class or academic level, institution name and language preference
  • Assignment prompts, questions and instructions you submit
  • Documents, files or images you upload
  • Payment-related information processed by our payment gateway, such as transaction and order references and payment status
  • Device and browser information
  • IP address and log information, where applicable
  • Cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate and improve the service
  • To create and manage your account and credit balance
  • To generate and deliver AI-assisted output for your requests
  • To respond to customer-support and grievance requests
  • To process payments and confirm transactions
  • To detect, prevent and investigate misuse, fraud or abuse
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations

3. Providing Services

Your prompts, instructions and uploaded assignment materials are processed to generate the output you have asked for. This processing involves third-party AI service providers and cloud infrastructure providers acting on our behalf. Your content is stored in your account so you can return to it, and may be retained in our systems and in our providers' systems for as long as needed to operate the service, meet security needs and comply with law.

We do not claim that uploaded content is never stored or never processed by third parties — providing an AI service requires such processing.

4. Customer Support

When you contact us, we use the details you share — including your email, phone number and the description of your issue — to investigate and respond.

5. Payment Processing

Payments are collected through a third-party payment gateway. Card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, net-banking passwords and similar sensitive payment credentials are entered on the payment provider's interface and are not stored by us. We store limited transaction data such as order ID, payment reference, amount and payment status.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls, encrypted transport and restricted database access rules — to protect your information.

7. Data Retention

We retain account information, prompts, generated output and transaction records for as long as your account is active and thereafter for as long as required for legitimate business, security, dispute-resolution or legal purposes. You may request deletion of your account data by writing to help@assignmentgpt.in; some records may need to be retained where law requires it.

8. Third-Party Service Providers

  • Cloud hosting and database providers
  • AI model and inference providers
  • Payment gateway providers
  • Email and communication providers
  • Analytics providers, where actually enabled

9. AI Technology / AI Service Providers

AI-assisted features are delivered using third-party AI models. Prompts and relevant content are transmitted to those providers to generate a response. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above, to the extent needed to run the service, and as required by law.

11. Legal Disclosure

We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that it is required by applicable law, regulation, legal process or a lawful request from a government or enforcement authority, or to protect our rights, safety or property.

12. User Choices and Rights

  • Access or correct your account information from your profile page
  • Request a copy or deletion of your data by email
  • Withdraw optional consents, such as marketing communications
  • Raise a grievance through our Grievance Redressal page

13. Marketing Communications

If we send service updates or promotional messages, you can opt out using the unsubscribe option in the message or by writing to help@assignmentgpt.in. Essential transactional messages, such as payment confirmations, will still be sent.

14. Children's Privacy

The service is intended for students who can lawfully use it. Where a user is a minor, use must be with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us without such consent, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

15. External Links

The website may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please read their policies separately.

16. Data Security Limitations

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

17. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be published here with a revised "Last Updated" date.
